Thoughts on MUFG?

Received an offer for their NYC IB team in a pretty general group (think industrials/tmt/hc). I enjoyed my interviews and don't have better offers on hand, but not seeing much about the firm on here. Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Big 3 Japanese bank along with SMBC and Mizuho. They've been really aggressive in recent years with the push into the US because Japan is kinda fucked long term. Not a terrible place to be if they succeed in that push. Problem is, they might not do M&A out of NYC yet. I can't be 100% sure, but from what I've heard they run partnership with BBs that do the legwork of the deals.

Somewhat correct - they have a middle market advisory arm (Intrepid), any large ticket deals flow through Morgan Stanley’s advisory arm as they have a significant ownership stake dating back to the GFC.

MUFG does very well in project finance though, this is their bread & butter
