What is the general outlook for the firm and what are the best groups? I have heard great things but want some insight.

Current analyst in the NY office. General outlook for the firm is neutral-positive, PWP's been focused on bolstering its senior team across the board and expanding across all levels, but once again deal flow is very dependent on the seniors like most boutiques, and momentum varies by year. Analyst experience is highly variable across groups and even within groups. Some groups where deal flow isn't as good have super chill cultures. In the larger and more busy groups, often a few analysts get staffed on the bulk of the work and get a lot of deal reps in at the cost of WLB, while other analysts are able to relatively coast by. Seniors are highly variable as well. Some seniors really care about mentoring the juniors and are genuinely the best people I've come across in banking, other seniors don't care that much, and there are also a small subset of seniors who aren't great people.
I feel like a greater number of analysts at PWP go A2A than a lot of other boutiques, primarily the analysts who weren't staffed on everything who were working under the MDs that cared about them. The hardo analysts who got staffed on everything and killed their WLB during their analyst stints got great exits, primarily UMM and also a handful of MF. The non-hardo analysts who didn't want to go A2A placed very well across MM PE (a degree of self-selection) as well as some UMM PE.
What are top groups in NY. I know there is C&R, HC, RX, Industrials, FinTech, FIG, and Capital Markets Advisory. What would best be for WLB and best for exits? @PWP Analysts?
