Tips for Lateraling into IB - 1st Yr. Analyst vs. Exp. Analyst vs. Associate

What tips do you guys have for lateraling into IB? After how many years of work experience should you be targeting Experienced Analyst vs. 1st yr. Associate positions? Is it more difficult to try and lateral in as an Experienced Analyst vs. an Associate? Is it at all possible to try and lateral in as a 1st year Analyst even after 1 year of work experience and would it be easier to try and lateral in as a 1st yr. Analyst vs an experienced analyst? Also, if anyone has insight into this, which firms are most open/hire the most lateral hires? Thanks!
