Top FIG groups in 2025?
Interested in the space thus would appreciate any color on the top groups on the street (across all firms, BB, EB, MM)

The last thread on top FIG groups was done 10 months ago........
What about the Canadian banks? NYC offices
1a - GS, JPM
1b - MS
2 - BofA, Barc, Citi
3 - LAZ, PWP
4 - Everyone else
Note that there's a big drop-off from the top 3 BB. Also, the EBs specialize mostly on advising on the asset management/fintech side (i.e., their practice is not as robust or holistic as a GS or a JPM, for example)
Why is PWP that high? I get that they advised on a couple of $10bn Blackrock deals last year, but other than that their FIG practice largely consists of capital raising for random FinTech companies. Nothing noteworthy. You may as well put up there PJT given they advised on the Capital One-Discover merger...
They advise PayPal a lot and advised HPS/Blackrock just recently
I feel most EBs active in FIG (EVR, PJT, LAZ, PWP) are more or less the same in terms of their quality or reputation. I don't think any of them are worth highlighting over the others
Ardea - add next to MS
EVR - strong insurance team id put them next to the BBs
JEFF - I see them as good as Laz. Same with PJT
any thoughts on CVP for FIG?
How is the fig team at MOE?
Nothing to write home about... Strong groups / sectors at MOE include media & entertainment, healthcare services, RX, and REGLL. All the others are pretty meh
JPM's FIG franchise is #1 nowadays. I get the hype around GS FIG considering its historical track record in buy-side placement, but purely from a deal flow perspective it has slipped a lot over the last 5-10 years
What about European rankings?
In Europe MS FIG is a top franchise next to GS. JPM is a notch below
Echo this. MS top of the street in London for SFABS which has been a big part of their FIG business recently.
Anyone know about which MM or Boutique teams perform well?
Some boutiques that come to mind: Ardea, Berkshire Global, Broadhaven, Howden (TigerRisk), FT Partners
Any ideas what deal flow is like at Howden?
good shout here
how's citi fig
