Transaction Advisory > IB

Hi everyone,

I was just curious if i was to accept a Big 4 Accounting firm role in Transaction Advisory Services, is there opportunities to leverage the skills i gain to hopefully land an IB role later on in my career.

To be specific: Lead Advisory/Restructuring/Valuations in TAS.

or Would the best alternative into BB are from Boutiques.

Thanks

Valuations guys do a lot of modelling if Im not mistaken...think you could definitely leverage that.

Thing is in US there seems to be a real anti-Big4 stigma amongst banks (from what I read here anyway)...this does'nt really exist in London...Big 4 name on CV is a solid brand and then with the modelling experience as well its not that hard a sell.

Do you mind me asking if this is a grad role or experienced hire?

This will be for a Grad role and i'm not US based. Major aim is IB Asia.

I know a couple of guys who worked corporate fin/advisory at the Big 4 and landed jobs at investment banks. However, my school is a target for these banks and they are not BB firms. More like MM firms. From what I've heard, regional boutiques place well for full time offers in elite boutiques. Think Lazard/Greenhill, etc. Btw, my school is considered a semi-target

OP are you an idiot

How is transaction advisory better than IB?

I think u need more research into these two roles and see for yourself

I think his ">" means leading to, not better. IE can TAS lead to investment banking?
