Based on the most helpful WSO content, while there isn't specific information about UBS's Off-Cycle process in the provided context, general insights about Off-Cycle internships in London can be shared:

  1. Typical Process: Off-Cycle internships in London often involve multiple stages, including online assessments, video interviews, and in-person interviews. These stages are designed to evaluate both technical skills and cultural fit.

  2. Interview Focus: For Global Banking roles, expect a mix of technical questions (valuation, financial modeling, accounting) and behavioral questions (teamwork, problem-solving, motivation for the role). Be prepared to discuss your resume and past experiences in detail.

  3. Preparation Tips:

    • Review technical concepts thoroughly, as Off-Cycle roles often require candidates to hit the ground running.
    • Practice behavioral questions using frameworks like STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
    • Research UBS's recent deals, strategy, and culture to tailor your answers.

If you're looking for more tailored advice, the WSO Investment Banking Interview Course is a great resource to prepare for these types of interviews.

Hirevue or something beyond that stage?

As of today, just received the AC

Damn - I haven't even done my Hirevue. Curious, what's your background like?

From what I know, the AC process is pretty much the same as in other BBs - three interviews with bankers of varying levels of seniority, a thirty minute case study, some brainteasers.

I find it unlikely too, but UBS pulled this crap last year, so it wouldn't be surprising if ACs are already out.

Basically in the exact same boat. Tests last weekend, HV invite on Tuesday, HV done yesterday.

Not sure if there'll be another batch of ACs, but from what I heard, if you don't hear back in five business days, consider yourself dinged.

reached out to the HR due to some technical problems on their end that messed up my application. They said they will get back to me in 2 weeks if next step. So i would assume its rolling

3x interviews. Think one is technical, on motivational and one is a case study you get sent before (potential merger on a food chain but might have changed). Think they are 30m each.

Can anyone share how technical the case study was? Were you given detailed financial statements to work with or was it more of a qualitative/strategic case? And was any valuation work or deeper financial analysis expected? I was also told there’s only 45 mins of prep time and a 10 min presentation, so just trying to understand what’s realistic in that time frame
