I don't understand you are asking for undergrad so how does an Msc in Europe figure into this?

To the question if you do well at UNC you will get a good shot at IB. Cannot comment about Bocconi.

I see that you like to give a lot of advice around in the forum which has no concrete facts or add any value. Are you even based in EU or have personal accounts of people who went to different schools?

To OP: Bocconi bachelor is not targeted as strongly as their graduate master programs. It's up to you UNC - 4 years - start in US or EU Bocconi - 5 years Msc+Bsc - start in EU (I doubt Bocconi prestige transfers to US)

If you end goal is Msc in EU, Go Bocconi and save 1 year

Haha, well I thought I was adding some value. It seems recently Europeans don't like what I have to say. But I guess I am partial to the world's largest economy. Not to give out my life story but I'm from Asia, so I do know a lot of people who went to for an education to different places. I went to school in the US, worked both in Asia and US. Currently based out of a major commercial center in Asia.

What facts do you want?

UNC is a highly respected public university. It has a top 10 undergrad program and a top 20 MBA. It places very well in the South and quite well in NYC area. It has a great college environment, a good campus, great sports and beautiful girls.

Bocconi is a solid Italian school with decent reputation in London. I think Bocconi is a great school for Italian kids. Don't see its worth for international students especially if you don't speak Italian and not from the EU.

From my perspective, UNC would be a no-brainer. If you don't agree that is completely fine. But please let me know if this post has been to your satisfaction and if you want to talk more about the merits of an American vs European college education please PM me.
