Unfortunately dropped the ball for SA 2021, what is my move now?

Current junior here at a weak-semi target. Applied everywhere, (Had 3.7, 1 Boutique IB internship, 1 PWM at BB internship, and 1 VC Internship). Had only a few first rounds and 2nd rounds but ultimately I shit the bed. No one else to blame but myself.

I am pretty set on IB and I actually enjoyed the work I did at my internship. Obviously I would have preferred to work at a big name like a BB to get a lot of exposure and training, but that  looking like it won't happen.

My question is what's the word with working as an IB analyst at a small/no name boutique? Is pay significantly below street average? I also know exit opportunities are lackluster. What are other pros and cons? If anyone is working at a really small IB firm please share your experience.

Bump, interested. What is life like working at no name shops that are still high volume (e.g. the sweatshops that have good deal flow but not so popular like the 100 in healthcare, or regional boutiques, etc.)

Good lateral opps with all that experience? Or do people discount the experience and responsibilities one may get at a place like that (very good experience just no brand name and smaller sized deals)

Strongly encourage you to try valuations at a Big 4 or something similar. I've seen many people do this their junior summer and transition FT to BBs. The recruiting process is fucked honestly. Keep your head up though and keep grinding, no doubt you're going to make it if you keep working hard!
