Career Resources
Former intern at UNH and current healthcare banker. Generally, it's banking hours for corp dev pay, plus you have to live in MN.
love how I get the MS when I shared an opinion of someone who actually worked there and then there's 5 comments below saying the same thing with the "heard from a friend" caveat
heard from friends that they work you pretty hard (~60-80 hours) despite being a corp dev job.
Wouldn’t want that place on my resume
Its a fortune 5 company which means:
Had a friend who worked there seeking a WLB improvement vs. his role as an IB associate. His life didn't get more manageable, and his comp got worse - he didn't stay.
There is nothing wrong with the role/team for the right candidate, but it's hard to stomach working banking hours at a material discount - this leads to a lot of churn FWIW. If you want a springboard to make it to IB, I think there is sound logic around using time in this group accordingly, otherwise I'd look to increase your opportunity set.
Hope this helps.
I'm a healthcare banker (ignore title) and work across from them a lot. They all seem pretty smart. Very organized and know how to run a process well. I can't comment on pay, but they definitely work harder than I'd want if pay is normal corp dev level - get a decent amount of late / weekend emails.
The base is up to 125k now. The bonus is less than banking. I am an incoming intern.
Is base 125k for analysts?
yes
