Updates on GS Recruiting Policy
Hey all, I was wondering if someone in the know could provide me with updates on how GS's recruiting policy is playing out. The general sense I've been getting is that if you keep a low profile, nobody bothers you much during on-cycle recruiting, and the real downside is that you can't ask senior bankers to be references on your behalf. Is this an accurate description?
Basically, I'm asking if GS analysts are actually being forced to miss a lot of on-cycle opportunities, e.g. Carlyle or Berkshire or whatever schedules an interview with you and you literally cannot make it because of this policy. If so, does this depend on groups? Is it different for regional groups in Chicago or SF?
bump? Have a decision to make, and this would be helpful context.
Also interested in learning more on how this is playing out.
Depends on the group from what I heard
