bump + interested
Sounds like a great opportunity, wonder if they are going to focus recruitment from the DC area
Saw somewhere they were looking from the top bulges so NYC/SF/LA definitely in play
They will get UBS bankers or Baird industrials kids who can’t take it anymore
interested on others thoughts
Anyone have the link?
How do you get in contact? Or is it only if H&S reaches out to you?
A few weeks ago someone who knows someone working there asked if I was interested. So another avenue would be just networking. Technically through finance network but I do have a lot of overlap with DoD and politics in general.
I don't have any overlapping networks unfortunately.
^Similar comment if anyone has a point of contact.
I’m not about to make an intro over WSO unfortunately but I would suggest LinkedIn. Just check who you know that works for DoD. The people at OSC are pretty well networked. If you are politically active then a good chance you were at a conference with some of the guys.
Where can I apply for a summer analyst position?
Sounds interesting in theory, but the strict 2-and-out nature + need to move to DC probably turns many people away who want to stay in top markets.
$250k comp is actually pretty great for DC.
The MD page was laughable - “willing to work from DC 4 days a week and NYC on Fridays”. Doubt any MD is going to want to either move to DC for this role or get an apt there for the 4 days and do the 8 hour round trip commute every Fri-Sun.
They would probably provide the md with a helicopter
nice blackhawk escort
This would be a great option for bankers who have deferred MBA admits or if banks agree to bring back bankers who left to do this secondment
MD is def flying, prolly flying private.
If you work for DoD at a senior level, you can just hop in a plane or helicopter.
Time for Government Sachs to make its comeback!
I got pinged for the PE team. At an earlier stage in my life I would’ve totally done this. But now it’s a material pay cut and no way we’re uprooting to move to DC lmao. Godspeed to the brave who go down this route.
If you're willing to share any details about the team running recruiting, please feel free to PM me.
Mind sharing who specifically reached out to you? Was it someone in your network or was it the search firm running things?
If anyone has dreams of becoming a 90s Russian oligarch, here's your chance. The amount of corruption involved with that 200 billion is going to be unfathomable.
Retarded Americans. Die white monkey.
This is interesting... Thanks for sharing.... Godbless.
Thanks! Good day to you too!
This happened with CHIPS office too during the Biden years, I know a few people who did that as well before returning to places like JPM and Evercore. I honestly do think it can be a fantastic opportunity if you want to be in A&D banking or investing - you’re gonna be working for Stephen Feinberg of Cerberus and making an awesome network. It’s basically getting paid to get the best parts of MBA. Think of it like the lawyers who go clerk for SCOTUS for a few years in DC then return to big law - it’s a great resume add and huge networking opportunity.
I wish i would’ve gotten the call but hey, good luck to those that do.
DoW + Bankers = should be AMAZING culture!
It’s not only BBs, everyone I know across the street is getting hit up. Everyone agrees it sounds like a cool opportunity but no one has the guts to actually do it
can incoming analysts do this?
Any clue who is specifically reaching out? Is it the headhunter?
im an incoming analyst at a top bank, think moelis etc, and a senior at a top UG business school, think UT austin, IU Kelley, Michigan Ross — can i do this?
No, think no.
congrats on IU kelley + no you can't, they are recruiting from banks because they have already trained their employees
Anyone have a point of contact? Plz DM
Bump
Seems like a pretty interesting role. Anyone have any other info?
Bump - - any insights on interview process/nature of the role?
