US IB → APAC/GC in 5–10 Years — What’s the Best Path?

Just hit the desk at GS/MS/JPM and graduated from H/Y/P/S/W. Plan is to head back to APAC/Greater China in 5–10 years. What’s the best move to maximize career growth & minimize comp / title cut?
• Stay at my current firm and pursue an internal relocation later?
• Still take on/off cycle opportunities if they come (as ASO pay is much higher), but try to join a fund with APAC presence—do those funds actually accommodate internal moves across regions?
• What does the US → GC lateral market look like? How hard is it to make the jump with a modest title/comp haircut at ~5–10 YoE?
