UT Austin Mccombs VS UVA Undergrad

Debating for Undergrad, I got into UT AUSTIN MCCOMBs and UVA for undergrad; both are around the same price, so cost is not a factor here. Ik Mcintire is quite hard to get into, so what should I do to take Mccombs and run with it or risk potentially having to do Econ at UVA. To be frank, I like the money. I want to build up wealth and don't have any locational preferences for working, just wherever is best for my career.

Depends on where you would want to work full time. I think UVA would open up more doors around the country, UT may pigeonhole you in Texas or at least would make it more difficult to place in NY compared to UVA. I think both schools are solid but if price ranges are the same I would go with UVA.

Both options are decent but I'd pick UVA over McCombs given that UVA is a more general school and probably has a better reputation vs. UT in general.

Hey, I recently applied to other schools from Ut McCombs and had been admitted to UND Mendoza, Vanderbilt, rice, Cornell ILR. Price are all similar to McCombs except cornell. Should I transfer out or stay? Looking for NY IB, not certain if I can get into WSFM…

Cornell since major doesn’t matter there all the banks give you a fair shot at recruiting. Otherwise I’d stay at UT bc rice just pigeonholes into Houston tho you do see some NY ppl

As far as getting to IB on the East Coast, definitely UVA. I almost went there and from what I remember, Mcintire had a 60% admissions rate. I do think the pre-req classes are difficult and are meant to weed kids out, but if you're decently smart and hardworking it should be fine. I worked in internship at a HF with a Mcintire guy and he was great, asked him about Mcintire and he said most kids who really wanted it got in
