Waitlisted FT IBD

I'm on a 'waiting list' at a boutique (Greenhill/Lazard/Evercore). Had the final round interviews and was told I was top of the group (2/4 rejected, not sure what's going on with the other guy). However, they aren't sure about headcount and want to interview a few more people before making decisions.

The way I see it, this isn't a traditional wait list where I'm first to call if people decline/renege. No one has signed a contract - apart from converted SAs - I know this because I was in the first set of final rounds.

Is there anything I can do to tip the scales in my favour? They are coming to my university next week - I could talk to some of the analysts/associates/HR. Who makes the decision in these situations? My worry is that they interview the next batch of candidates and forget me. Also, at what point can I bring up other banks. Is it worth mentioning final rounds at other places or only if I get an offer.

Thanks

Is this for London?

PM me the specifics and I might be able to help more.

Been in this situation plenty of times. As they say, keep pushing on and if you land an offer from a comparable place, that would be the best way to tip scales (beside having someone Senior on the inside push your candidacy). I'm sure if your able to go through the Final Rounds with an Elite Boutique, you will be fine this recruiting season.

So you're like their 2:00 am chick at the bar when everyone else is heading out?

Better than being the 3:00 am chick at the bar passed out in her own puke.

Nah, more like the 6pm chick while the hotties are still getting ready.

This was pretty awesome.

Groups will have multiple superdays. I was in a similar position and got the offer eventually. Relax and keep doing what you're doing.

I would only bring up other banks if they specifically ask you where you are interviewing or you have an exploding offer. Banking is a small world and they can easily check.

Don't listen to these fuckers. I would bet that this is more about "fit" than anything else and chances are there was one fit question that you didn't answer very well, so they're naturally skeptical. It says a lot that you're still in the mix and you'll be able to impress them if you end up getting hired on. They're looking for a grunt, so it really doesn't matter if that's the A, B, C, or D team just make sure to get your shit done and impress if they end up deciding to hire you on.
