Wake Forest IB
Hey everyone, first post here. I'm going to Wake in the fall of 2022, and I'm trying to figure out an internship for this summer. Can someone give me some insight on the typical career path of a business/enterprise-minded undergrad wake student? Additionally, is Wake even considered a semi-target for ib? Thanks
derekcarriselite, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Sometimes bots are smarter than humans anyways:

Hope that helps.
You could possibly call it a semi-target for CLT, if you are aiming for IB in CLT you stand a good chance. Boutiques have a ton of WF alumni and I'm sure if you go on linkedin and look for alumni that work at Well's BAML, Jeff, or even Truist you will definitely find a few. Just gonna have to do the networking grind, but I'm sure you'll have a decent pool to reach out to.
Be sure to apply for pre-wall street career track during freshman year- allows to start business classes a semester earlier and good networking opportunities for clt and nyc-wfu underrated as great feeder to clt banks- wfu better known for accounting but they are pushing hard for ib- good alumni support
Non target for NY, semi target for Charlotte. Charlotte is mostly UNC people with Duke probably a close 2nd. There definitely are alumni though.
Bofa clt with very strong wfu presence and clear desire to further this connection. This will become more apparent . Unc also represented well-
Wake punches above it's weight including in NYC. Go to the website and check out the destination report within the OPCD (Office of Personal and Career Development). Under one of the tabs is a subtab entitles "Where Deacs Go". You can download spreadsheets on specific majors, graduation yrs, etc. They typically account for 90% of outcomes per class. You'll see, as an example, that each yr there are approx 100 Fin majors with about 50% of them going into banking. Not all IB but plenty of IB at lots of banks including GS, JPM, BofA, Wells, Truist, and others. Others in Econ, BEM, and other majors as well. Roles include IB, S&T, Private Banking, Corp Banking, etc. If you want a banking gig, there's a good chance you'll obtain that.
I would also suggest not being fixated on that as an incoming freshmen. However, there will be lots of events to attend early on that give you a great lay of the land. And Wake alum are quite helpful.
