Wanted some realistic insight on my chances

School-Large State school in FL (Ugh)
GPA- Expecting it to fall between 3.7-3.8 on low end hopefully 3.8+
Major(s)Finance and Accounting. Minor: Economics
Sophomore Internship- Commercial Banking at WFC
Junior Internship-Some strong possibilities at Moelis and JPM
I just wanted to evaluate my chances in breaking into IBD without my connections and just wanted to see if the school alone would crush me. Thankfully I would consider my connections strong and hopefully that will open some doors as it has for my internship opps. Just wanted insight from those with far more than I!

Confused. What are you asking?

If you actually have an interview with Moelis/JPM, then you've got as a good a chance as anyone at those firms. If you don't, and you're asking if you'll get interviews through a resume drop...then no, because you're at a non-target and your WE is ok but not great.

Sorry should have clarified. I am asking my chances to break into IBD post graduation with those internships on my resume assuming I do not receiver an offer to stay on with one of those firms.

md3Moelis has been done at my school for about a month now, so unless you have done a superday recently I would be surprised if they still have open spots.

He mentioned family connects, FYI.

I mean, what's you're deal? Are your family hook-ups getting you in the door? If so, roll w/ it and take the offer if you land it. If you're interviewing / getting a shot at a slot who gives a shit? I mean when I was recruiting I did 80% on my own volition and pulled the hook-up card to make up the rest. So did every other non target in my class.

Every analyst class at every big bank has a contingent of non-targets. UF is fine, good football, hot chicks and not laughable academics. Just do well over the summer if you get it and move on w/ your life.
