Places well given the size of people actually interested in finance at the school. But def sits behind UChicago, NU, ND, and UMich with respect to Chicago recruiting. Alumni presence at top BBs and EBs leaves a bit to be desired, and pretty much anyone from WashU who places there is through diversity.

Would honestly consider attending for a year and then transferring out to a target–really not that difficult to do if you have good grades from there, and they are def overrepresented in the transfer cohort of t10s/Ivies.

WashU Alum and would agree with the statement above. I know friends who got placed better because they transferred to UCB, Northwestern, Uchicago, UPenn not only in the realm of finance but also SWE.

with that being said, if you commit to WashU I would say its still not a bad place. There are kids consistently being placed into NY GS, MS (c. 5) and Gugg (c. 10). Blair is also pretty consistent.

WashU does have a pretty solid pipeline also to Bain Chicago (c.10) as you are still young so i would also offer this information to you

Thank you and I’ll see about transferring, I’ll probably try for only NU and Uchicago and see how that goes but with the more likely shot that I stay at WashU, why isn’t there any WashU alum at Chicago bb/ebs?

There’s 1 analyst at green hill and 1 md at JP Morgan, why do you think this is? Do you think it’s a lack of interest in Chicago or are WashU kids just not getting interviews. Like PWP for example has so many IU and UIUC kids but not 1 WashU alum and it makes 0 sense but this is the trend everywhere, Should I be worried about this?

I mean at the end of the day each school has its strength and weaknesses right? WashU has not been a strong school in business but has its other specialties such as pre-med. If WashU is strong in all aspects its not going to be ranked as it is now lol
