Lots of capital market activity. M&A activity skews towards MS deals.
From my understanding, don't most banks down there focus on capital markets work given the nature of the energy industry?
All the bulge brackets do quite a bit of capital markets, but they also do M&A. The ratio of the two varies depending on the bank. CS is known for killing it in IPO's, while some of the independent advisers and EBs like EVR, Simmons, Jefferies pretty much only do M&A with some random IPO's thrown in between.
Yes, most all banking groups in Houston focus exclusively on the o&g/ofs space.
RBC has a P&U team.
There are some boutiques that aren't exclusively O&G.
But generally correct.

I have a SA interview coming up with WF for their Houston office. Does anyone have information on the culture? Also, how does WF stack up against other S&T divisions in Houston? Any input is appreciated.
