What can you realistically do if you don't get an RO?
I'm an incoming intern in NYC at a more LMM level firm think like Stephens/DA kind of level. Can't stop worrying abt not getting a return, and I was curious what your options are in that case. Can you go into other areas of finance like commercial/corp banking still?
well if it is lmm, then the bar isn't necessarily that high to get a return. if you really want to secure a return, just practice your excel stuff and know ur ib techs and be personable/not weird. take seniors and juniors for coffee and all.
Yeah fs, I'm just worried abt the worst case outcome, so I was wondering if you had any insight on that.
Will def prep up beforehand. Only 3 interns so should be good visibility
maybe start networking with 2-3 other shops you might have networked with before to warm them up and if you do not get an offer, immedietly apply to the FT roles.
The other shops I have warm networks w are honestly better than where i'm at, so would they still take someone FT who didn't get an RO at a lesser place?
Yeah could just cover it up as a less of a culture fit on both your ends rather than inability to do the work.
