What Happened to Lazard (US)?
Title - They went from the top EB ~15 years ago (maybe along firms like BX Advisory and GHL) to a weak platform in the US. Exits are still fine given the historic prestige of the firm, but by all metrics firms like EVR or CVP are just crushing them

Thanks bro, half of these are undisclosed amount or MM deals or non-US deals... In the US Lazard simply doesn't have the same cachet anymore as an Evercore, Centerview or PJT. They are a decent firm, nothing more
Recommended all-cash acquisition of Schroders by Nuveen (Principal Shareholder Group Trustee Companies)
List above is US-based client for 2025/2026. Evercore is a BB now with a bunch of MM deals, PJT sure it's fast growing, but it's a complete stepdown from its predecessor BX M&A, which was legitimately the top EB with the most dominant run and exits of any advisory practice ever, and idk enough about centerview.
Most of PJT MFPE placement is RSSG fyi
Congrats on Lizard!
the amount of insecure LAZ shills here is something else lol - guys relax, LAZ is an ok shop but it isn't a top EB anymore, that's it
Nothing new here. They have been trending down over the last 5-7 years, especially under the new leadership. Still a decent EB but its trajectory is clearly opposite to eg Evercore, thus has been crushing it and growing at the same time
not sure EVR is the right example. PJT is definitely the best choice of a quickly growing EB
Yeah Lazard sucks!!! Moelis rules!!!
Lazard sucks in the US lmao, beneath PJT, EVR, CVP and even MOE
Agreed. Current Investment Banking Apprentice at a Chattanooga, TN-based tech services M&A boutique, and firmly believe we are above Lazard in the U.S. at this time (maybe not globally)
LAZ has deteriorated over the last ~5 years, that is not secret (except for LAZ folks who think for some reason that it's better than EVR or CVP)
LAZ shills didn't like your comment lol
holy get back to your job at stifel lil bro. ur opinion means nothing to anybody
