What if I don't like 'investing'
Currently I'm about to go master in the UK, with the backgrounds of IBD & markets, but tbh I'm not sure if I'm really interested in IBD. I been pursuing this job only because of money, prestige, and dynamic exit opportunities. That's all.
These days, I think even the exit opps are great, most of them would be all types of investing or acquisition etc. but so far, I have not been attracted by them that much.
Originally I prepared for law school in my country, so maybe this could be the reason(not sure).
So confused if I who don't have an interest in investing can pursue this job or not.
CorpDev. More or less a well-paying business consulting role that doesn’t involve investment like buy-side firms.
Well done for having the self-awareness to realise this and admit it publicly (semi).
It might be helpful to define (1) what you dislike about investing, and (2), what you do find interesting.
(As a side note, to anyone in these forums who are young and thinking about options, as a bit of advice from an older fella, please don't pursue things for "prestige" (as defined separately to exit opportunities and money, which are important) - prestige doesn't pay the bills, nobody will remember your prestige once you're gone, those you truly love probably care less about it than you think, and there are far better ways to feel good about yourself)
