What Internships Did You Have & What Was Your First Role After Undergrad

As specific as you can be about internships you had during undergrad or b-school, and which role did you get coming out of school. Including your school's general tier (hate to say it) would help paint a clearer picture.

Would be helpful to get data points on how internships lead to FT positions.

After Sophomore Year- I worked at a small (8 employee) commercial real estate firm in Chicago, I helped identify new properties for acquisitions and worked was tasked with developing strategies to squeeze more revenue out of existing properties.

After Junior Year- I got a summer internship at a middle market PE Firm (25+ professionals). I networked my ass off through my alumni network just to get my foot in the door. I learned a ton and was given a great deal of meaningful work. Unfortunately, this firm was not looking to hire anyone pre-MBA so there was no chance to start here once I graduated.

FT: I interview at a major bank and received an offer from their Real Estate Equity Investment Group (250+ employees). Three years later I'm an associate and I'm working up through the ranks. I'll continue to examine other options in the REPE space and my eventual goal is move there when I find the right opportunity.
