What is the correct play here? Following up with someone I've been referred to

Standard networking routine - I had a phone call with an analyst who, by the end of the conversation, said he would internally refer me once FT apps started.

Followed up again last week so see where they were at, and he promptly asked for my resume (probably wanted the most updated one since 3 weeks elapsed in between then and when we first chatted), saying that he would forward it to a colleague that was mentioned by name.

Said colleague has not reached out yet. What is best practice here? I don't want to keep bugging the first analyst (who essentially has already dropped me off), and might honestly not have much pull for recruit compared to the colleague. Should I email said colleague cold and mention the first analyst's name? Or should I go back to the OG analyst?

my personal opinion would be to cold email said colleague and say something along the lines of

Hey my name is.....blah blah blah......Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with OG Analyst, and I really enjoyed our conversation. He mentioned that he would pass my resume along to you, and I wanted to forward you a copy just in case it fell through the cracks. I would really appreciate the opportunity to get on the phone with you sometime in the near future.........you know the rest
