What is the internal bullshit like at your bank?

I feel like a glorified back office assistant 50% of the time at my BB. I know that analysts do the work that no one else wants to do, but seriously, half of my week is just chasing executive assistants for the schedule of the seniors, filling out internal memos and workflows, wrangling with internal committees when I don't fill out some stupid irrelevant form 100% correctly or skip one of the steps...is it like this at all banks? I'm assuming boutiques have way less of this. I just feel like my growth and learning is seriously stunted when I am more stressed about trying to get internal approvals on time than working on a deck or a live deal.

Including but not limited to:

  • Re-naming PDFs for the Associate
  • Pointing Associate to the right folder path
  • Fixing Associate-touched broken excel files
  • Fixing Associate-touched powerpoint files with the client name spelled wrong
  • Getting gaslighted by Associate and VP in group settings
  • Getting yelled at by Associate and VP because they don't know what a therapist is
  • Sending an email with notes of every conversation you have with your Associate and VP so they know you've noticed their behavior and will track everything on paper

I was in CB at a BB and can't wait to get out of this role cuz the amount of internal BS we have to do is ridiculous though we advertise ourselves as a FO role. I think 70% of our jobs are putting together bs internal tasks, talking to mfs in Risk and arguing with Risk about completely meaningless subjects. I would also say that I have seen friends in IB at my BB having to deal with this - maybe this is also specific at my bank but the amount of scrutiny we're under internally from audits is ridiculous and we're just stuck remediating dumb facilities or reporting files lol. I sometimes feel like an Ops personnel, so dumb. glad that im leaving this role soon

lol same, literally getting jammed up the ass by my associate to get some onboarding shit done (that should have been completed long ago) cuz we need to sign some shit by end of this week. literally was not even my problem now i'm getting fucked for it. like dude i get you're stressed, but i'm trying my best here also and this was sprung on me at the last moment.

also internal teams are so fucking slow and they leave work so fucking early like wtf?
