What news sources do you use daily?
Hey everyone - just curious as to which websites/blogs etc. you receive like a daily newsletter from? The guys at my shop suggested a few (i.e. Pitchbook, PERE, etc.) just curious as to what you all here use.

Career Resources
Thanks for mentioning Pitchbook, never heard of it before.
Breakfast briefing and 10pt news from WSJ are pretty useful. Others include MorningBrew, Finimize, Seeking Alpha
MarketSnacks is also very helpful!
This is actually extremely similar to MorningBrew except for being shorter. I'll sub to this too and see which one I like better
Wall Street Breakfast from Seeking Alpha is quite good
Do a search on WSO. There are many threads out there discussing this. I like the following:
Morning Brew here on WSO is also pretty solid.
Agree - think these are generally the best. Dealbook, PEHub, & Term Sheet are my personal favs.
Cool thanks for all the feedback guys.
Your primary news sources (Originally Posted: 04/09/2017)
Excluding tools you use at work - Reuters Eikon, Bloomberg, Factset, etc; Let's make this a thread that adds value to everyone reading it.
1: Barrons 2: Financial Times 3: Economist 4: Bloomberg 5: Foreign Policy 6: Foreign Affairs 7: WSJ/NY Times (switch off every now and then so essentially interchangeable, NY Times has a broader focus, WSJ is more focused on the markets and business. I get a lot of business and markets news elsewhere, so the NY Times is usually my preferred option.)
Also listen to a ton of podcasts from a variety of producers, but these are my core 7.
Would say you have it covered. Washington Post also solid.
I hate watching Bloomberg TV, next time you watch it count how many times they say: "Bring up that Bloomberg chart," or "Look at this chart," and take a shot.
The Onion is personally my favorite, followed by this forum, and then the Reddit Front page last.
What's Your Go-to Website for Financial News? (Originally Posted: 07/13/2017)
I'm starting to be more interested in stocks and markets, and i was just wondering what you guys use when you want to find potential stocks to invest in, or look at updates for whats happening.
I mainly use Yahoo Finance, which is pretty good, but i'm hoping there's a better website you can recommend.
Morningstar has decent data feeds. Everything else is expensive. BTW, You can run scripts in yahoo and really get decent analytics for estimates. If you're making a screener by industry, use S&P's categories.
Morning star is pretty good, I just had a look. They show what they think the under valued companies are, which is really useful
Business Insider, Fox News, Buzzfeed
Buzzfeed has some really good stock articles about why males are oppressing every female based stock
twitter is good if you follow the right ppl
Who do you follow?
cnn!
Check out FinViz: FinViz News FinViz Screener
Also use MorningStar, Google Finance, and sometimes Yahoo and SeekingAlpha.
finviz is really condensed and full of article names, it looks like a good site. My biggest problem with google and yahoo was that they are full of pictures, ads and random shit that doesnt let you scan everything quickly. Its more pictures than articles
elite daily vox CNN chaturbate
I heard chaturbate has some hard to swallow articles
Seeking Alpha.
I just read the Michael Lewis book about myself. After that, I see my greatness in movie form. Those are the only sources I need.
i usually use the italian "Sole 24 ore". But i think that having some RSS on blogs is the best idea.
Where do you go for news? (Originally Posted: 01/05/2017)
Where do you typically go for business/industry/leisure news? I use:
Business * WSJ * Bloomberg Terminal * Streetaccount * Google News Feed
Tech * TechCrunch * ReCode * Hackernews - for the deep tech stuff
Leisure * Reddit * WSO * Various Car Forums / Autoblog * Simple Car News * ESPN
Anyone have any good user curated news websites (like Hackernews or Simple Car News), or interesting blogs you follow?
I would add the Financial Times to that list for sure!
For business, I like Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Breakfast and MarketSnacks. MarketSnacks is like the daily newsletter version of the WSJ's "side column" on the front page.
Nice - marketsnacks looks clean, just signed up to see what its about.
WSJ CFA Institute Financial NewsBrief Medium Daily Digest (to keep in touch with what's on vapid liberal Millennials' minds) Politico RealClearPolitics Bloomberg Get news flashes on my phone from Fox and CNN
There are plenty of other places for various commentary as well
Daily News Intake (All Serious): WSJ NYT Dealbook and Morning Briefing Financial Times CNBC (usually on the TV in the morning while reading other news)
Occasional (Leisure and Serious): The Economist Bloomberg CNN ESPN The Ringer Reddit
Scarcely (Mostly Leisure): ReCode Several team specific blogs for my sports teams ZeroHedge
Propublica Washington Post NY Times Bloomberg Terminal WSJ Reuters and a few others
In the morning I check bloomberg and read their "Five Things You Need to Know to Start Your Day" and whatever articles look interesting. Then I load up WSJ and go through the sections and load up a bunch of tabs with whatever I want to read and read articles sporadically throughout the day.
Other than that I get notifications from random news sources sent to my phone and might glance at CNN or CNBC but WSJ is where I get the bulk of my news.
I also check SeekingAlpha but more so for news on a specific stock

Hey everyone, I was wondering what your guys' daily news feed is like, what apps and social media platforms you use (if any), etc.?
I'm trying to update mine, and I think many in the general community would want to learn more about the best channels for different types of information.

Hi guys,
was just wondering if any of you know of any good finance and news blogs out there. The NY Times blogs are pretty good with some decent commentary and discussion but im looking for one with more life. can anyone recommend any?
FT's Alphaville Abnormal Returns DealBreaker
Not so much a news blog, but also highly recommended: The Epicurean Dealmaker
dealjournal by the wsj
thanks guys. abnormalreturns is pretty good. saves plenty of time searching through all the sites
If you miss the entire week (say, go on holiday or something), then this site does a quality, and occasionally quite funny, weekly news round-up... QFinance: http://www.qfinance.com/blogs
here's an example: http://www.qfinance.com/blogs/qfinance-editor/2011/08/05/a-week-in-the-…
I think the whole concept of linking the stories of the week together in episodic fashion is a great idea. It's even good to read if you have been on your game following finance and business news, just to see all the big developments over the last week
