What's the Investment Research Division like?

What's the real deal with the investment research division?

I interned at a BB in a diff division and am looking at my skillsets, what I enjoy, etc and I think investment research might be it, but, like an idiot, I got too wrapped up in my own division and with landing an offer instead of contacting alum in other divisions that interest me to see for myself, so I'm hoping someone on WSO will give me some real info.

-Workload/type? -Hours typically (do you have your weekends? etc.)? -Salary? (base is like 80, so what're the bonus ranges?)

Thanks.

its a lot more laid back than IBD. average of like 10-11 hour days. i doubt u need to come in on weekends. usually pretty low pressure and projects that arent as time sensitive as IBD. i currently am an intern in IR at a top firm but not a bank.

you would be better off posting this in the "equity research" topic
