What's the point of joining an IB group that doesn't have a guaranteed chance of exiting to MF?

Imagine joining a mid-tier group or a mid-tier bank just to end up at a $6bn PE fund in Chicago that rolls up HVAC Midwest companies. Seems like there's really no point in life unless you're at one of the top 10-15 groups on the street.

Obvious troll : but in case anyone thinks like this : the average exit even from EVR is MM PE, so like ye. Why be at EVR went the average analyst exits to MM PE? Sounds stupid right, good because it is in fact stupid. Too few MF/UMM spots and too many top BB/EB spots,

That's because EVR is a terrible bloated firm with a huge DEI hiring focus and massive analyst classes that has seen a ridiculous drop in junior quality/standards over the past decade. Average exits at true top independents (CVP/PJT/LAZ) are still UMM+.
