Where did people in your analyst class come from?

Why hasn't someone gone around to their analyst class and figured out exactly where everyone went to school? I assume for a company like Centerview it isn't many (25-35 total per year?) and for something like GS/BofA you should be able to get a pretty good count.

I know we always talk about target schools and which banks take which, but wouldn't this be even more transparent? Not publishing something ofc but just an informal count and posting it somewhere. I feel like it would be interesting to see as well and perhaps map changes/trends over the years. If someone has done this I would love to see.

I mean once you’re done recruiting for banking, you have the luxury of not having to care about target schools and what not. To figure out the best target schools just use LinkedIn search filters and filter for each target and you’ll easily get a count. Can even filter for analysts specifically.

Smh man you know exactly what I meant when I asked this. Everyone knows what schools place well. But just like UF sends 3 kids to Evercore a year, I'm interested to see what other schools place and exactly where. It's a lot of work to look through linkedin or look at all their club placements.

It's just interesting to see stats. More helpful for people deciding where to go or how accurate "target school" labels actually are. Relax.

Its not a good measure for helping people decide where to go or what is or isn't a target school cause you're not going to get a good representation from a random WSO post.

You really don't have to publicly announce your virginity like this.

Do you want people to line up outside with their respective schools, so you could count how many people from each school?

It's literally exactly what you'd expect. Ivy+, solid publics or schools with strong finance culture, and NYC based schools, and a few outliers with great networking or something.
