WHICH BANKS ARE STILL SPONSORING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS? (Canadians?)

Does anyone know what banks are open to sponsoring Canadians for SA 2021? I want to focus my networking on firms where I actually have a shot of getting in the process.

Things may have changed but for SA2020 it was pretty much just GS and the EBs that were open to Canadians, maybe some MMs too. There may have been a couple other BBs open to it but the majority said no Canadians.

Completely misinformation. GS, JPM, BAML, Citi, DB, and many EBs sponsored international in SA2020.

International is different than Canadian. We are talking about TN visas here, not H1B. I literally recruited this past cycle as a Canadian who was looking to get in with a TN - JPM for sure was not taking anyone on a TN visa. Both Citi and BAML referred me to their Canadian offices, and admittedly I didn't recruit for DB so unsure on that one.

Any info about JPM or MS sponsoring for Canadian? I know they did a couple years ago but I have heard conflicting information about 2021?

Moelis, Evercore, CS, GS, HL all sponsor Canadians. Source: I go to school in Canada (and am Canadian) and am working at one of these firms for summer 2020, and I have friends working at the other firms.

BAML, Citi, MS, JPM, BarCap, RBC, UBS, PJT, Gugg, Laz 100% do not sponsor Canadians. Source: I networked with all these firms and was explicitly told they will not sponsor.

Also: it doesn't matter what office you work at. Sponsorship policies are made at the firm-wide level, not on a per-office basis.

As do I. You clearly did not read/understand the question.

The question was: "Does anyone know what banks are open to sponsoring Canadians for SA 2021"

Yes, previously, almost all banks sponsored Canadians. Therefore you will know people across the street (JPM/MS/RBC/etc etc).

Banks change their decision on sponsorship frequently. As I said, for the summer of 2020, Moelis, Evercore, CS, GS, HL all sponsor Canadians. For the summer of 2021 (as indicated in the question), these firms will likely also be sponsoring Canadians but that is subject to change.

If Lazard/JPM/MS/RBC/PJT didn't sponsor for summer 2020, I guarantee they aren't sponsoring for summer 20201.

Summer 2019 is different than summer 2020. This post is about summer 2021 and firms that sponsored in s19 might not in s21.

I spoke with a VP from Citi re summer 2020 and was told they are not sponsoring Canadians.

Yes. I networked with an alumni of my school who works in laz ny and was told they will not be sponsoring going forward. If you don't believe me then you can reach out
