Will the Peace Corps Hurt My Career?

I’ve always been drawn to PC programs and have had my eye on one specific program since high school. I didn’t apply right after undergrad for a few reasons, I believed that I needed work experience in order to be able to contribute meaningfully to the PC, I needed money, and if I came back from PC after two years with no work experience I worried that I would be hard to hire.

I ended up getting a job in IB after not really expecting it or planning for it nearly as much as some others on this site. I can’t walk away from the IB path just given how lucrative a career in finance can become with IB as your starting point, but I also recognize that PC is something that I’ve wanted to take advantage of for a long time and I feel that I need to follow through with it.

TLDR: I’m an An1 now and think after my analyst stint I will go to the PC. Can going to the PC hurt my career/future employability?
