Worth it to go for RX?
From non-target with good IB placing club (I guess semi-target from the club or whatever people on this site state as placements).
I want to know if studying for RX now is worth it - I read the Moyers book and working through the RX guides right now and find them very interesting. However, if it is incredibly unlikely that I'll catch an offer as I'm starting RX-specific studying now I'd love to know and just focus on getting an M&A offer.
I also hear you get super pigeon-holder in RX so that's something to think about too.
rx does not pigeon hole you if its a good shop, look at exits from any rx group and you will see many traditional ib exits.
whether you want to study for rx now is something hard to say given holiday season/other work you may have.
Echo above. Rx has more optionality than coverage IB because we get exits to MF PE, UMM PE, HFs, and Distress HFs / credit. Big reason why I chose RX tbh was because I did not know what I wanted to do post IB so figured most optionality can't hurt. Also just found the work interesting.
What if is RX consulting e.g. FTI / A&M - would you recommend going to EB afterwards and then exiting?
Studying for Rx will make interviews from even EB M&A feel like a breeze. So there is ROI in that
