WSO Catchup in Australia!

I was reading about the WSO conference and thought it was a great idea and how bummed i was that i couldn't attend, because i was way across the other side of the world!
Then as a result of a couple of posters who showed an interest, i thought it would be a great idea to have a catch up in Australia so we could hang out, share horror stories and hopefully learn from the successes of others.
That being said i am unsure of the amount of interest in Australia, or in what state the location would be, my best guess would be logistically either Sydney or Melbourne, however it could be anywhere depending on where the highest amount of geographical interest is...
So if your interested in getting together and hanging around with some prospective bankers and having a yarn; post your interest and we can discuss if it would be worthwhile, the time's that would best suit and what location/s it should be in.

Awesome idea. I think Sydney would be best sometime during, or after, internships finish- that way there would be a bunch of interested people in the same location at once. Glad to see so many fellow Aussies coming out of the woodworks on WSO.
I would think it would be easier at the 1st week of internship since many of the non-Sydney based interns will be in Sydney for training.
I'm a non Sydney based intern- problem with that is different banks start at different times, so not everyone who might like to attend will be there. Granted, it'd be tough to schedule one for during the internship, but if people think it's a good idea, it could be smart do schedule one some weekend in the middle of ALL the internships, so the largest number of interested people is available to attend.
That being said, if we can find a day when a lot of banks are having training in the same week, you're right in saying that'd be a great idea- much easier to meet then as opposed to in the middle of tough work weeks.
Not sure about when everyone is starting, but can confirm that at least 2 banks I know of are starting on the week of 25th November.
Yeah my bank starts much later (9th December) which is why I was pushing for a slightly later meet up- would love to be involved if possible. Obviously I don't expect anyone to cater to my schedule specifically, but if other people start later as well it would be great if we could a) actually set up a get-together and b) do it mid-December +
Perhaps we can set a tentative date in the near future and then ask the admins to publicise this post so more Australians who'd like to attend see it.

Hey guys, Thanks @notthehospitalER I think that sounds like a good idea if we can put a tentative date down and see what interest that gets, be it in the next month or so, or wait till internships which start near the end of the year.
