WSO Premium Packages Officially Launched!

So after discussing different WSO Premium Package offerings last month with the community here, we decided to go forward and create three options. The Platinum Program, the Gold Package and the Silver Package.

You can get to the descriptions and comparison grid either by clicking the Premium tile next to the WSO logo (we moved the company database tile to "Firms" under the main navigation)...or going right here: WSO Premium Packages

We are very excited to offer these new deals to our loyal members.
Over the years we have developed very strong products and services to help job applicants succeed. These packages take multiple angles to ensure you know how to network and are ready for your tough interviews.

They include our famous WSO Resume and cover letter review, career consultations, mock interviews, financial modeling training, our best interview guides as well as the WSO Video Library and WSO Job Board. In other words, they include everything we have to offer and in the case of the Platinum Program, they include even more....

I hope you guys will help us get the word out - I know we are in the middle of recruiting season so these couldn't come out fast enough (trust me, we were working hard behind the scenes to get them ready!)

Would love to hear your feedback. Thanks guys!
Patrick

TheKid1, the Platinum Program is only available to seniors because we feel like we can add the most value at that stage in the process when they should be starting FT recruiting. It's much harder to break in as an analyst if you are way off cycle.

However, if you meet all of the other criteria and for some good reason missed the boat on FT recruiting, we would at least consider you, but it's not who we are targeting so I can't promise you'd be accepted.

The Gold and Silver packages are still available to graduates that are unemployed and can definitely help polish you as an applicant.

Either way, best of luck! Patrick

I took a look at the new premium packages being offered and they are awesome! TheKid1 notes a general issue, that the premium level service is only offered to college seniors. Based on what is being offered, this makes perfect sense (btw, the 3k + 15% salary is GENIUS!), but it does leave something to be desired for the older crowd. One way to deal with this is to provide another option between the Platinum and Gold levels ("Palladium"?) that includes everything offered in the Gold level but adds "Personal Introductions With LinkedIn" (or "WSO Network in Action"). This could be priced in-between the Platinum and Gold options so someone looking at the prices wouldn't see "$1,000, $1,900, $8,000" but instead a more gradual, "$1,000, $1,900, $4,900, $8,000". This may induce more people into the upper tier of product offerings. Just a thought!

@mikesswimn thanks for the thoughts....rather than complicate things with another package, we'd be more open to relaxing the "senior only" restriction as I mentioned in my previous comment.

The Gold Package is still an option for the older crowd that is not in the typical recruting cycle. We are willing to work with students from non-targets and semi-targets that show promise, but to open us up to completely non-traditional candidates is way too big a task right now.

We're still a small team and the Platinum Program is designed for a small group so that we can deliver exceptional service and get them placed.

Whilst I understand the need to start monetizing this website after having reached the critical mass of users I am slightly disappointed by the recent WSO trend to make more and more $$$. I think one of the key differentation factor was that this was very much a community and by introducing more and more $$$ services it will progressively change the nature of the website. I'll still follow it but definitely crossed the yellow line for me...still best of luck to any applicant as always...but better if you can do this without spending $8k...

No one is putting a gun to your head to spend money. You have at your hands a treasure trove of FREE information provided by the WSO community. It's up to you if you need additional resources and whether or not you are willing to pay for it. Patrick's gotta eat too.

I was referring more to the packages, mentoring services, etc... Let me clarify my comments through by saying that there is no doubt that there is a market for it and that it can also benefits a lot of students who might not have the right background or knowledge to land the right job but who have the right skills, and that happens a lot (e.g. non target, few finance people in entourage,...). So I see value in these services. It's just that for me WSO is more of a community, forum, discussions where you have quite a incredible diversity in terms of industries (consulting, banking, PE, HF) but also in levels (no experience to very experienced individuals), and the repetition of these offers on the website slightly annoys me, maybe because I am not the target for these and that I am not interested in it. In the same way another annoying thing is also the way old articles or posts are re-engineered and re-published on the front page, I think there are a lot of on-going conversations that could be on the front page as well as regular articles from people writing for WSO (this is a great addition by the way). As said before this is just my opinion and it might be that I am the only one in this seat but I felt I should mention it.

Antmavel, please point us in the direction of similar services.

As far as I know, only self-study/class modeling programs exist. Nothing as comprehensive as this new WSO package.

We'd consider that but again, it isn't our target market since I don't think we can add as much value to top tier MBAs that already theoretically have access to a great network to land informational and first round interviews.

I still think the Gold and Silver package are solid investments to prep yourself for recruiting season (and can be used by MBAs), but the Platinum Program is a different beast altogether that obviously costs a lot more for a reason.

gold and silver packages are definitely great. but that application to platinum serves a screening mechanism.

im just saying if wso doesnt think a person is a "workable" material toward that person's aspired career, that person might need tons of work to do or forget about finance for now...

Yay this is my first post on this website :D I read the discussions here on WSO religiously!

So I just graduated this June 2013, and I meet all the other criteria. I live in Lebanon, where there are only 5 local investment banks that don't operate on huge levels or professionally, if I may say. So basically, I'm willing to join any top tier investment bank anywhere around the globe. Am I considered out of the target bracket of the Platinum package?

P.S. What's the traveling once per 3 months about?
