Wtf is global markets credit
Accidentally applied for one of these roles and got a AC pending this week and have absolutely no clue what these guys even do
Appreciate some guidance in advance.

We’re probably gonna need some more info to figure it out. Is it credit trading?

They are counterparty credit. They review trading counterparties for different trading desk and establish trading limits based on counterparty credit risk.
Would you say it’s a middle office role? I had gone in assuming it was like asset backed credit or something along those lines
Depends on the bank, from my understanding most have it grouped within "Front Office" with some interaction with client for request on financials/understanding of strategies etc.
I would say think of it similar to Corporate Banking (Some banks have it grouped under CIB as well) - where its just credit rating and analysis of counterparties. But instead of corporates, you review trading counterparties and set covenants on things like amount of leverage they can take on based on analysis of their performance, AUM, collateral, etc.
