Wtf is up with all the Rx consulting posts?

Why has there been so many Rx consulting posts recently? Like 10x as many as actual Rx IB posts which are far more relevant to this forum. Was a larp thread the other day about allegedly a PJT RSSG / EVR RX analyst asking how to move to Rx consulting. Lol??? Have FTI or A&Ms HR been given a huge marketing budget or something. What's going on

Work on the same big RX deals as other top IBs / Counsel, greater exposure to the company from an operational / what do they actually do perspective, don't need to grind out the "2 years each of IB to PE to MBA just to crash out and exit to corp dev" pathway... and you get paid (semi?) comparably. Know an RX Consulting analyst who made $220k+ and $250k+ first two years out. That being said a lot of it has to do with luck and it's a lot more competitive now

Agree with all of that. To add on, more diverse work (with the optionality of debtor and creditor side, which are two totally different flavors), strong exits across multiple different industries, culture at most firms (aside from the Big 3) is entrepreneurial, you get to work as bankers on smaller / middle sized deals, and in general not a lot of people knew about it till recently, which is why you're seeing such a burst of interest. They also in general get more deals that RX IB because the IB guys don't get called to every restructuring; the consultants handle smaller ones as aforementioned

Also the hours are reportedly as atrocious as RX IB when on deals, so you can still brag abt that I guess 👍

One more thing, all the posts have been on the consulting forum so idk where you're coming from. You sound like that pisses you off.

Why are you so shocked? Genuinely curious. IB/PE/VC/HF/MBB are surely not the only prestigious careers out there. Know a few guys that could’ve gone T1 EB out of ivy but chose RX Consulting instead for the operational spin. We post on here all the time to gain insight into every vertical of IB, from BB/EB RX IB—>no name/LMM DCM IB. Was also very surprised to see it gain so much popularity here but honestly more surprised that you almost seem mad more ppl want to learn abt it.

I think it’s the same dude with 14 different accounts talking to himself to hype up the industry. No joke.
