2022 Full Time (FT) Recruiting?
Hi everyone, first time poster here but I am definitely long time lurker. I am currently a junior looking to break into IB however I completely missed the recruiting cycle for 2021 SA. Amidst all the covid-related chaos, I admit was frankly intimidated by all the networking and studying that needed to be done so I didn't even try and thought I would just go down the consulting route. Once I realized that I fell behind, it was too late and most of the firms had finished recruiting for 2021 SA. As I go into this summer and my senior year, how do I position myself best? Does anyone know when the FT process for 2022? Beyond networking, what tips do you all have for recruiting FT? Anyone here in the same position and what are your plans?Any insights here would be great, thanks in advance!
Same position here, best I could manage was a Big 4 TAS/FDD role....not sure how competitive that would be for FT but going to try my best. Want to hear what others are doing as I've mainly just kept in touch with my Superday interviewers from last year, and was looking to start networking soon but not sure if it's too early
I've also heard reaching out early can be perceived wrong but if you're at a big 4 or no name it really shouldn't be a problem. I think the problem arises when you are already in the industry.

Same position here. Planning on following up with my contacts here in a couple weeks to get advice on the FT process at their firms. I have about a month before my internship starts, so I'll probably do some new outreach and interview prep between now and then.
FT recruiting is a different animal. Typically it happens in the fall of senior year after return offers expire (so hard to leverage any offers you may have). This year was a bit crazy due to the uncertainties with the pandemic. Only a few banks held small processes in the fall, and then a bunch went during the spring (some even still interviewing kids). Networking is much more important for full-time and it's very important to get a referral. Some banks do group specific processes, others like Barclays and Morgan Stanley have generalist processes with group placement in the spring/summer.
