2025 SA

I'm a student in the UK graduating in 2025, but intending to apply for a masters in the US right after. Does anybody know/have any experience with doing IB summers pre-masters? Would it cause issues or can I submit applications for 2025 summer roles saying I'm expecting to do a masters starting 2025. Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for students to secure IB summer internships before starting their master's programs. Here's how you can approach this:

  • Timing: Apply for the summer internships during your final year of undergraduate studies, indicating your intention to pursue a master's program starting in the fall of 2025.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate in your applications and interviews that you are planning to attend a master's program after the summer. This shows foresight and planning on your part.
  • Advantages: Having a summer internship before your master's can strengthen your profile, especially if the master's program is in a related field like finance.
  • Networking: Reach out to alumni or professionals who have taken a similar path to gather insights and advice on how to navigate the process.

Remember, it's essential to be transparent with potential employers about your education plans to ensure there are no misunderstandings.
