2028 Recruitment Cycle - Advice needed
Hi WSO,
I just finished finals and I think I am going to end with a 3.6 GPA freshman year at non-target, Rutgers. Do I still have a chance?

Career Resources
Lower end of the spectrum for a nontarget but still possible. Make sure to take the absolute easiest classes in the fall to at least bump yourself to a 3.7 by recruiting season and to network like your life depends on it.
Are you in RTWS?
I am not, would it make a big difference if I was in it?
I mean without doxing yourself, what other info can you give us. Do you have relevant internships? Do you have a strong network already? Have you done case competitions/stock pitches? Do you have a hard major that can explain away the GPA? Are you involved in finance clubs on campus? RTWS doesn't materially change your recruiting process, but it is a red flag that you're doing finance at RBS, want to do IB, but aren't in the program.
You do not need RTWS - there is a guy who landed GS without it
2028....
I meant class of 28 😅
I had a 3.69 (real lol I know sounds fake) and landed Citi/BofA/Barc NYC from a southern non target
Brother just get on that phone and start dialling
