A little lost planning for the next few years...

Background: I graduated 2 years ago, 3.5ish in Econ and English from a ~50th ranked school.

I worked for just over a year in public finance but left because of the hours for an ops position at a well known trading group about a little under a year ago. This was shortsighted but obviously too late now.

However, the main reason I made my move is that I am also looking to potentially make the national rowing team in the next few years (with 2020 as a cutoff). As I practice 6-730/8 in the morning and from 6-8ish in the evening, I needed to have a job that could accommodate this schedule. I am worried lately though, that I have hurt my career future by moving into Ops without completely thinking my decision through.

Because of this, with my extra downtime, I also took level 1 of the CFA exam a few weeks ago. At work, I mostly spend time in VBA and SQL and will be attempting to start learning Python and R now that I do not have CFA studying.

Essentially, I am just looking for any advice from anyone who might have experience here or really even if anyone has ideas for what might be most appropriate for me over the next several years before I attempt to break in to a more prestigious/intensive role, whether a top MBA would be necessary as a reset or something else. I know it is completely naive to just hope that I will be able to transition into a great job in 4 years when I have the time so just any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
