Acrocorp Internship or Northwestern Mutual Internship?
Hello everyone! I am a junior studying Economics, and I have gotten internship offers for summer 2016 at Acrocorp and Northwestern Mutual. I am having difficulties on which one to decline and which one to accept. Could anyone comment on their experience/advice for my decision? Thank you!
What types of internships are they? (Sales, Ops, etc. ) What will be your titles/responsibilities?
For Northwestern Mutual, its a "Financial Representative" internship. It basically is about how to find, connect, and build clients and and a strong client base platform. Ill be doing research on clients and their needs, and present them to my mentor who conducts the client meetings with the information I gathered.
This is the Acrocorp internship jobs description I got...
"Support internal communications team in planning and executing company-wide initiatives Work with various departments and colleagues around the world to gather, write and edit content for company newsletter, intranet and social business platforms Assist in producing company newsletter and publishing content on the intranet Help facilitate use of Clients internal social networking tools, which includes contributing to conversations, moderating for content/ideas that can be leveraged across other communications and supporting the sites administration Design internally-focused graphics for Clients internal platforms ..."
One sounds related to finance and one doesn't. I'm assuming you want to get to IB or some other finance related career right? Go with Northwestern Mutual. If you want to work in tech or communications or journalism, go with the other choice.
