Any firms that are still recruiting for SA 2024?

I am trying to break into investment banking. I realize that I am way behind but are there any firms that are still recruiting SA? Anywhere except SF. I am not working in SF.

Yes I know that I am way behind.

It’s not over until it’s over. I realize the timeline has moved up a bit earlier, but I actually got my SA21 offer in November 2020. I was admittedly a lazy POS during COVID summer and did not interview at nearly enough places during the main cycle. But I lucked out and still found a seat in the fall of my third year. You still have time. Take the next month to network harder and make sure you are really well prepared for any interviews you do receive. I ended up with three different first rounds, one second round, one super day, and one offer. Pretty risky but whatever works works.

Also damn, can’t believe it’s already been two years since I interned. Try to get this off your plate and enjoy the rest of your summer man. Best of luck.

BofA and JpM I did first rounds and got dinged. I later interviewed at a no name regional boutique and ended up starting my career there. Plenty of options you just need to hustle.

Also fuck SF. I moved from SF to NYC and it’s way better. SF has to be the worst run city in the United States. Bunch of smug liberal politicians patting each other on the back over inane ESG and DEI metrics while thousands of mentally ill dope fiends shoot up on the street all day long, harass residents, and throw shit everywhere … New York isn’t perfect but way better.

I think a lot of MMs are waiting to see if the financial services sector will rebound before building up their classes. A lot of them took a conservative number of people this year. I’d assume if things get better towards the end of summer, they’d open another wave of apps or at least group-specific apps to fill in gaps that will most certainly be there.

In terms of BBs, I heard Citi will have another wave most likely. And JPM is still actively recruiting I believe. I think BofA and UBS have pretty much filled up their spots and MS is pretty much done as well (could be wrong though).

I’d recommend just grinding technicals and behaviorals so that when the opportunity arrives you don’t blow it because it’s easy to focus too much on networking to actually secure a first round, especially if you’re nondiversity.
