Asked to interview but never given a time and date

Hello fellow friends,

I am going to a convention next week and applied for a financial services internship of a company that will be attending. I was texted by a recruiter to schedule an interview and responded to her text within 1 hour telling her I would be available. Haven't heard back from her since Tuesday... and also followed up with them. I know other people who have moved on to the second round. Here's the caveat, I'm scheduled to have a coffee with a C-suite exec during the convention, should I email him or anyone else from the company to let them know what is going on?

I'd love to pursue an internship with them, but am feeling discouraged. It's one of many companies, but maybe I'm just overthinking it or maybe it's a sign from the financial service gods. All and any input would be appreciated.

I wouldn't email him, I would mention it at lunch. Recruiters are 99.9% full of shit, I'd be willing to bet that they didn't have the authority to offer you an interview, or they reached out too soon.

If you're already meeting with the guy, figure out a way to casually say that someone reached out to schedule an interview, then ask smart questions to prepare.

If he's not a total fucking moron he'll get the joke and, if he's impressed enough, he'll help. If it's crickets after that, you botched your chance.
