BACKGROUND CHECK FOR NEW JOB

I accepted and signed an offer with a REPE firm. I completed the background check and passed the drug test. On the background check, I disclosed that I received a DUI 3 years ago in college and have paid all the fines, completed all the counseling, etc. and that the case has been closed for 2+ years. It was classified as a driving offense (misdemeanor) NOT a felony.

On the background check results, however, it showed a prior that I had for Assault and Harassment (which were both dropped in court, because they simply weren't true). Can they hold this against me even though I wasn't convicted and didn't do anything in the first place?

I've already informed my employer that I'll be leaving and have given my two weeks as suggested by the HR at the new firm I'll be joining. I feel I'm overthinking things, but wanted feedback nonetheless..
