Behavior in the Workplace

Hey WSO,

Having signed my FT contract at a BB, I wanted to start a thread about how to behave in the workplace.

I am interested in learning about what is the best way to act in the workplace to maximize your appeal to co-workers/managers to eventually climb the ranks of the firm.

Please feel free to post any advice/anecdotes surrounding: making friends with other professionals, how to develop a relationship with superiors, how to navigate controversial topics, approaching workplace gossip... all with the ultimate goal of getting promoted

Produce timely, high quality work, all with a positive attitude.

When you do that, everything else you want will make it's way to you.

Good luck!

I noticed that many people change their behavior when they join an office, especially the youngster. Don't do that, just be yourself.
Work consistently, treat others like you want to be treated and learn the ropes from your team / mentors.
