Can I switch group placement after accepting job offer

Hey guys, I recently accepted a commercial banking job offer, but it’s not the group I was hoping for. Would it be okay to ask the recruiter or VP if I could be placed in a different group? For example, switching from commercial real estate to middle market lending?

Nah don't. Just try to lateral while on the job. Its a bad look and if it doesn't work everyone will hear about it and you will look bad. Had a recent internship where I asked to switch desks before I started and I eventually didn't get the return. Pretty sure everyone knew.
