Career Advice - Currently second years systems analyst at F500 company

I'm currently a second year systems analyst at a F500 health insurance company, part of a rotational program designed for future IT professionals, and I want to change my career to something else. I don't have anything specific in mind, but I was wondering if someone who's been working for a while could give me some general career advice.

My stats: 3.6X overall, 3.8X major GPA from a semi-target in MIS. I've gotten some pretty good work reviews during my entire time at this company. I've been preparing for the GMAT for a while, I haven't taken the actual test yet but I can consistently get a little above 700 on the official practice exams.

I realize it's too late for me to get into anything lucrative, but I was wondering if there's anything I could do to increase my future salary. If I stay in IT and just go into IT consulting, I can probably make 140k-200k in my early 30's. If I decide to get an MBA and start some kind of career in finance(nothing really specific in mind), could I make more or should I just stay in IT?

Yea, sounds like MBA is a right option for you. A Top MBA will offer you options into consulting, banks and research or even an IT start up. So work on your application and go get the degree.

Do what you want not what you can!

Thanks for your input. My main concern is, my GPA isn't all that great and even though I did well at my job it's not really a terribly prestigious company. Can I even get into a top MBA program, even if I get above 700 on the GMAT?
