Career Change.

I'm currently trying to make a career change into the financial industry. I'm 24 years old, hold an MBA and recently passed the Security Industry Essentials Exam. Are there key things that I should be including in my resume or cover letters? Naturally, I am at a disadvantage without having experience in the finance industry. I did some research and came to the conclusion that my best shot would be getting a Research Associate position (if I'm mistaken with this assumption let me know). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the response. I graduated from my undergrad in 2017 and then my MBA in 2018. My first job was as an Administrative Assistant at a private college and then in 2018 I moved to Colorado and got another Administrative Assistant job at the University of Colorado. Currently I am a Program Coordinator at the Business school at the University of Colorado. So all of my professional experience is in higher education. However, I do manage various budgets so I do have some money handling experience.

Thanks for the response. Recently they broke down the securities exams into two pieces. They broke off the SIE exam so that people could take the test without being sponsored. Then once they get a job with a qualified firm they can be sponsored to take the Series 6, 7, etc. My interests are definitely in analyzing markets, statements, etc and then coming up with recommendations. The research aspect has always been interesting to me. I don't have a specific sector or industry that really stands out from others, I'm open to all industries.
