Yeah, I would definitely go for the Dow Jones internship. BB PWMs aren't exactly fun and you don't really learn a lot. Also, BB PWMs aren't hard to come by. However, your Dow Jones internship looks like a really unique opportunity that many freshmen don't have. So I'd go for that.

I don't get why this is even a choice. It's as much of a no-brainer as you can get.

The second option would be way better even if it was unpaid and the BB PWM was paid...

FranciscoDAnconiaThanks for the advice guys. And yeah, I pretty much knew the Dow Jones one would be a better experience, just wasn't sure if it was as relevant to finance as PWM.

I think for freshmen, the important thing is differentiating yourself, not finance. If you can get a boutique IB internship, that's the best because it is relevant and special. But if you do an internship that is unrelated to finance at a successful startup, that will definitely help a lot more than PWM.

That makes sense. And yeah, did a bit of alumni networking but no boutique IB opportunities to be found. Looking at the UBS/JPMorgan sophomore programs next year though.

BAML has one too. Boutique IB would also be great for sophomore summer if you can't get into those BB programs. Good luck!
