Delaying start date until Jan 2019- should be scared of economic recession?

I am suppose to be a member of Goldman Sach's New Analyst class in July. Due to EXTREME personal circumstances, the company has allowed me to delay my start date until January. Although it was approved by the company, I am worried that an economic recession might put my job security at risk. Any thoughts on the matter? Thank you all!
