I graduated undergrad in 2021 and getting a job wasn't easy. Settled for working for a tiny renewable energy company and had a 45k salary. Grinded there for a year and then lateraled to a renewables group at a BB, leaning into my renewables experience. Cast a wider net. Your first job doesn't need to be sexy, just be smart and use your experience to switch to a better job when you're able to.

Took a similar path, and am reaching out to many people right now, but I am not getting any traction. Any tips? Is the lateral market just shit?

Is your current role focused in anything? When I was first looking for a new job, I was applying to any banking or finance role I could find. I didn't start getting replies and interviews until I started to apply to roles that were for renewables energy groups within the banks since I had renewable energy on my resume. If your current role is focused in anything like that, energy, real estate, healthcare, M&A, restructuring, etc., or if you're more in a generalist role but have deal experience with any sort of more specific industry, then try to apply to roles that have any relation to that thing.
